Marcus

The Sun shone down upon her rather strong and piercing as her feet sank into the beach sand at the lining of the gushing water. Tears rolled down her petit face as she looked across the shore into the never-ending sky. All she could think about was his little son, Marcus. They could never stay away from each other and not many people could understand their need for each other, as they would constantly look for each other no matter where they were.
Now, she hadn’t seen him for the last forty-eight hours and didn’t know where he was either. She had looked everywhere till just a few hours ago she gave up and didn’t know where else to look. She didn’t know where else to retrace her memory as to where she could have left him.
She sat down now, tired or just distraught in pain. She dug her slender fingers into the sand with a little frustration while her knees shrugged towards her chest. Her upper body bent slowly and curved to make her whole body look like a ball. She was extremely beautiful yet so perfectly knowing of everything that no one could ever take her for granted. The same way she had always been careful and considerate about Marcus. Just once she let him out of his sight and now she was regretting her action and cursing herself.
She falls asleep while thinking of her son. The waves grow stronger and stronger as the moon comes higher over her closer to midnight but she doesn’t wake up as she dreams of finding him exactly where she left him. Marcus looks at her in the same loving manner as always without a regret of being left there or lost for fort-eight hours. She hugs him with all her life, squishing him tight and not letting go forever. They get ice cream and balloons for themselves and spend the whole day and more after that for a long time. Her dream turns more and more fantastical as she suddenly sees them floating in cotton candy but this time Marcus isn’t that happy. She never knew anything about his disliking of cotton candy, as he never denied anything she gave him. There were tears rolling down his cheeks now and she found it harder and harder to control her movement.
She now wanted to wake up immediately and actually look for Marcus instead of seeing him in such despair. She tried pinching, slapping herself, even falling down but nothing woke her up. She couldn’t feel anything below her feet. Although she did feel cold and wet with his image in front of her, she didn’t know what to do to actually get back to reality. Suddenly she felt his fur on her wet hands and was shocked. She could feel him like he was actually right there in front of her. She looks around and finds that there was no more cotton candy and everything has changed. She felt like she was a fairytale with snowflakes and clouds and light mist around her. Everything was milky white, including her clothes. The only thing that was same in color was Marcus’ fur, maybe because he was an inanimate, just a teddy bear at the end of the day.
Her caretakers at the mental asylum had warned her everyday that Marcus would one day get her killed but she never listened or understood considering her incapability of comprehending the difference between animate and inanimate. She had now died because of him but at least they were both in heaven, happy, with each other.

The blue envelope

She woke up to her phone ringing loudly beside her. Still sleepy, she gave it a pass. Whatever it is, it could wait till tomorrow. About three minutes later she woke up again. This time not to her phone but to hands, shaking her out of bed. Numb out of shock and instinctive defense, she picked up the home-phone on the desk beside her and whacked the man’s head with it. He loosened his grip on her for a second and she slithered out.
“Ariana! It’s me!” said the man. She stopped half way from whacking him again and said “Dave..? What? Why are you here!? How did you get in??”
“That’s not important. Quick. Get dressed, we need you at the office.” he said.
       “At two in the MORNING?”
       “Yes! Now, quick!”
She got dresses in under two minutes and they drove down to the laboratory building. When she asked him why they were here instead of the office, he didn’t answer. He just kept driving. When they reached he took her straight to a part of the lab she never knew existed. She was baffled by the looks of it. Everything was sleek and minimalistic. Nothing stained and nothing out of place. Of course, she also knew the nitty-gritties of all the equipment she passed by. All of a sudden, it seemed like she didn’t know the place at all.
They walked into a very posh room, filled with men and women whispering in anxiety. She only started to wonder why, when her boss got onto the podium and announced it was time. The room became silent almost instantly. Suddenly, everyone seemed to be looking around for a particular person and after a few seconds everyone’s eyes had rested on her. That’s when she realized that some of the biggest, most valued persons were here in the room with her. Presidents of all the major countries, ministers and other very, very rich people. Probably sponsors of some sort.
Her boss walked up to her and said “Ariana, we are on the verge of a major turning point in quantum physics. What you see here at the centre of the room is.. well.. a Time Machine.”
She looked at the metallic body at the center of the hall. It was majestic.
“A time machine?” she asked, shocked and in awe.
“Yes, and we want you-as the best physicist we have- to be the first person to use it.” He said.
She couldn’t believe her ears.
“Sir, we must hurry. We only have an hour.” Said another man with an middle-eastern accent, to her boss.
“Yes. Ariana are you willing to do so?” he asked her.
She had no more accessible energy than to just nod her head. No sooner than she accepted his request, did she realize she was walking towards this machine. Everything was a blur to her. She sat in it and immediately she felt like she was spinning and being stretched to a painful degree, at the same time. Suddenly the spinning stopped and she found herself sitting on her bed. Not her present bed, but the bed she used to sleep on as a teenager. She was back in her old house, her parents house. She looked around.. she looked at herself.. She was fifteen again. She spent most of her time looking around her room and almost forgot her task. When there were ten minutes left, she realized she didn’t have much time at all and she looked around for a paper. She scribbled “It works.” on it and her present address as well-along with the date it needs to be posted on. As soon as she ran to the letterbox and dropped the blue envelope in it she felt the same spinning and stretching sensation again.
She was in her bed, her present bed. In her 27 year old body. She was sitting in her night clothes and felt like she just woke up from deep sleep. She looked around and there were no signs of breaking in, her phone had no record of any incoming calls that night.
It was only a dream.. she sighed. She felt  little disappointed.. but thankful. It was a crazy dream, to say the least. She laughed to herself and went back to sleep.
About a week later, she was getting ready to go to work. She was running a little late so she was rushing through breakfast. She ran out of her house and flimsily locked her door. She picked up the letters and magazines from her letterbox and was about to shut it, when she saw something odd. An envelope, a blue one. She couldn’t believe her eyes. It must some sort of a coincidence. She slowly opened it, pulled out the paper and read.. “It works.”
Suddenly, she realized it wasn’t a dream. Suddenly, the world had changed. Suddenly, she became the first person to travel through time.

The psyre- Story 1

Once upon a time… ok wait. I will have to put this in another way! Lets start from the beginning.
In the beginning of this world, there was Adam, Eve, and the forbidden tree. But, before that was actually something not many people know about. It was small. I would describe it as something so insignificant even though it brought about the world. That’s because it was smaller than the palm of our hands. It was called the ‘Psyre’. Obviously creatures existed before humans, before the ice age as otherwise there would be no development of any sort in the world.
I guess ‘Psyre’ was one of their creations to sustain life, develop it and help it grow.
This element, or substance, was a replica of a Nano chip present in the 21st century or should I say, the Nano chip is a replica of this element. Nonetheless, it constituted various shades of green The Psyre was basically a very intriguing, special-at-the-least structure, which was reclaimable by no one living among the creatures.
As decades passed they got wiser, adapted better to their surroundings and learnt to make better use of the Psyre.  Although they had survived for almost a century, nature was now giving up on them. It getting warmer by the day; the snow started melting away with every fortnight passing by and all they could do was try and save them, as they did not know the magnitude of this catastrophe. They watched the largest icecaps flow down into rivers. They began to experience longer days and shorter nights. All this did indeed affect their bodies and behavior towards the surroundings. But most of all, it affected their source of existence-the Psyre. The Psyre started deforming very gradually into something rather beautiful. All the glowing orbs turned into flowing veins, and the different shades of green that were once on a flat slab were now shaping into flat, unknown shapes around the veins.
Now that snow had turned into water, they had easier access to a source of energy. But, the disadvantage was the foreign particles in the water and air that disturbed their intake of energy. The creatures were getting weaker, faster than the transformation that was taking place with the Psyre. The beings hoped that the Psyre was transforming into something that could help their existence. They all stayed close to it as it turned into a more vibrant green every fortnight. The creatures lost track of time, as they got weaker.
During this time, one of the creatures held the Psyre in its hands and admired the Psyre’s sheer beauty. It fell asleep while observing the Psyre and woke up startled when it felt something entering its mouth. When it tried to stand up it realized that the Psyre had integrated itself into the creatures’ outer covering and that the creature was now emitting glowing orbs.
At first, it tried to get the Psyre off itself but then realized that it felt more powerful than ever. It knew that the Psyre had given it life and that it was now time to save the Psyre for the future. By the next morning the Psyre had formed itself back into the curvy, vein-y organism leaving no trace of the creature. All the other creatures had now started to disintegrate because of lack of energy and the presence of foreign molecules in their body.
Two of them crawled back to the Psyre to seek help and they noticed it bending towards the light source in the sky. As they went closer, the orbs glowed brighter. As soon as they touched it, the Psyre integrated itself into their outer covering and affected them as it had the first creature.
The other creatures had also begun to disintegrate by this time. As the light source got stronger, all the snow started melting much faster. It was a sort of transformation into an era or an age. The snow-covered mountains now slowly turned into shades of brown. There were long streams of melted snow and larger collections of it that were results of all the channels of melting snow; different types of energy sources. Everything had changed and the Psyre was a one-of-a-kind existence.
The Psyre was provided with energy by the light source, melted snow and the air around it. It took in melted snow through its underground extensions, and turned towards the light source for heat. It grew larger and larger, into a more complex and intertwined structure. After a couple fortnights it grew another beautiful, differently colored structure on its end, which eventually fell out and grew into something similar to the modified Psyre. Within two or three decades, the replicas filled the entire land, which helped other living creatures like dinosaurs and other microorganisms.
The replicas reproduced and grew more in number and never became extinct because of the balance they created in nature. These replicas are now our most basic and vital source of life and being. Giving them a name does not give us the right to tamper with their existence. ‘Technology’ was built to support the growth of green and not bring it to extinction.
